Our buddy, Will, at AbandonedNYC.com shared with us some of New York’s most secret and untouched locations that are begging for a Brooke and Lindsay inspired photoshoot!

Dead Horse Bay, also known as Glass Beach, is a known to be a collector’s gold mine and one of the last untouched areas of Brooklyn.  Eroded ships and pieces of history lay to rest here in the beaches of Dead Horse.   Back in the 1800′s this beach is where the people of New York would come to drop off their dead horses and broken buggies and, grossly, chop them up for glue.  You can still find the bones from horses. The fact that this bay hasn’t changed or been touched for hundreds of years is literally a piece of history.

The Landing at Floyd Bennet Field honors the Brooklyn native and national hero who’d won the Medal of Honor by breaking barriers as the first to fly over the North Pole.  Since being dwarfed by New Jersey airport, Floyd Bennett Field is due for a rebirth, and it’s just waiting to be discovered. Until then, let’s enjoy the absolute decayed eye candy that’s just waiting for your cameras to capture it.  We can only imagine top styled fashion models from Lindsay’s shoots and the stories that Brooke will tell in these locations!

The Artists:  Brooke Shaden & Lindsay Adler

These two ladies are a force to be reckoned with.  Although their specific styles are different, their range of talent is similar in professionalism, expertise and absolute talent!

Brooke Shaden began creating self-portraits for ease and to have full control over the images, and has since grown into a self-portrait artist. Self portraiture for her is not autobiographical in nature. Instead, she attempts to place herself within worlds she wishes we could live in, where secrets float out in the open, where the impossible becomes possible.  Brooke works to create new worlds within her photographic frame. By using painterly techniques as well as the square format, traditional photographic properties are replaced by otherworldly elements. Brooke’s photography questions the definition of what it means to be alive.”
