What is the make and model number of the monolight that you used in episode 4? I know I heard you say that it was an Impact monolight, but you didn’t mention the model number. I really enjoyed the show and found it to be very beneficial.

I found the link on the framed network site that lists the gear used in each episode. Thank you for your time and the training!

I spent time with a photographer back in the 80″s. A master of photography who came up with Lightform Panels. His name, Dean Collins. It would have been nice for Kevin to at least mention him and his great contributions.

Hi everyone, thanks for the notes. Yes, Dean Collins was an awesome educator and I think he made many great contributions to the world of photography! There are so many sources of inspiration and education out there that I wish I could always remember who to credit for everything I’ve learned over the years. I actually learned this lighting setup from my studio partner, some 20 years ago. He may have learned it from Dean, but I’m not sure.
I remember attending one Dean Collins seminar about 18 years ago where he did a workshop for about 40 people alongside Dennis Reggie! Yah, what a contrast. Dennis talked about shooting weddings completely candid and Dean talked about being in control of everything. It was a really interesting juxtaposition. I wish I would have had
an opportunity to attend one of Deans lighting seminars, as that surely would have been awesome too.
Hats off to all the educators who have helped us grow!

Awesome lesson!! I’m learning so much! Just a few questions, what are your camera settings and flash output? I did see 1/64 as your flash output. Can you explain what settings to use with the lighting set up as you did here in your future episodes? I also love your Lighting Notebook and I will carry that with me everywhere, as I don’t own iPad or iPhone. In the book, all lighting set up is excellent, but hard to view how many feet, how high, what settings used and flash output etc. Thank You Kevin for helping us out! Love your personality too!!
