Geotagging & Soft Proofing your photos

This week Kevin shows us some cool GPS features! Photographs are becoming more and more interactive with the amazing developments of technology- and Adobe is blazing the path. With some of the amazing new cameras, phones, and other devices, you can actually trace out your journey of photographs by plotting them on Google Maps. Want to remember what street that amazing fountain was on in Greece? Simply pull up the Map feature on Lightroom 4 and see your virtual footprints all over the globe!

Also check out the Soft Proofing feature that allows you to see what will print properly for any preset you create. It also works for calibrated displays- No more surprises when you get your images back from the printer!

Don’t miss Kevin every Thursday right here on PhotoPro.

Hello, thanks for all you do for us! I have a question. How can I edit from LR4 to Phososhop? I can´t do it, so I still use LR3. Thanks!

  • Kevin Kubota

Hi Eli, LR4 works great with Photoshop. You should be able to open an image directly by using the CMD-E (or CTRL-E on PC) shortcut. Double check your Lightroom preferences too to make sure that your current version of Photoshop is selected as the main image editor. Thanks!
