JOEL GRIMES: Introduction, Take the Mystery out of Lighting.

Imagine if an award winning commercial photographer took 16 of his most famous images and sat down with you to teach you the techniques, tell you the story, and share exactly how he lit up those images?  THAT is precisely what Joel Grimes is going to do for you.

Joel was first introduced to photography his freshman year in high school and from the very beginning it was a perfect match. By the time he began college, his passion for the photographic process was all consuming. For over 26 years he worked with many of the top advertising agencies across the globe for clients such as AARP, Abbott, Arizona Office of Tourism, AT&T, Febreze, Discovery Cannel, Goldman Sachs, Hewlett Packard, Honda, Hyatt, Phillips 66 Aviation, Pfizer Qwest, Sony, Sturm Ruger & Co, Visa, Volvo, Xcel Energy and most recently Red Bull. Over the years his assignments have taken him to every state across the USA and to over fifty countries around the globe.

Joel considers himself an ambassador for the photographic creative process by teaching workshops and lectures across the globe. “I feel that by being an open book with my process I have an opportunity to inspire others to follow their dreams and passions to create”.

Currently, Joel resides in Pasadena CA with his wife and his boys. He is widely known for his amazing digital composites, and throughout this season, he shows us just that. His passion for the arts is prevalent as we enjoy his amazing success in celebrating light, art , and talent….all while being color blind.

Today, here on the brand new [F] Network, we introduce the first episode of LitUp.

Studio lighting can be overwhelming.  In this episode, commercial photographer Joel Grimes shares his journey and introduces what’s to come in the next 16 weeks as he teaches us to take the mystery out of lighting.

I hate artificial lighting. Because I am extremely intimidated by it. I so ridiculously excited to have you shed some light on this Joel. (Pun definitely intended)

would be great to see what the content of each episode is in the list without having to click on it first. Easier to find and access episodes. Numbers don’t mean much ;)
