Andreas Jakwerth is a Vienna based photographer who specializes in Portraiture and Documentary work. His series “Beards of Evil” put a different spin on the famous beards from “villains” in mankind’s history. By using the same model for each picture, it is interesting to see exactly how iconic these beards have come, and more curiously, how they actually blend with today’s more urban fashion. (1)

Jakwerth shot this series for the Austrian magazine thegap. However, the series never got published in the magazine because one brand of the fashion label didn’t like the historical person chosen for their clothing.
